I started doing NAD+ when I was approached by a traveling IV clinic called ResetIV. I had never used IVs before except for a hangover cure which honestly I never found to be that “curing”. Apart from maybe fixing the dehydration and nausea (if you were lucky enough to find one that would give you zofran) I havn’t really found IVs to be all that helpful post a night of drinking and terrible sleep.
So first off, what is NAD? NAD is an acronym for nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide. It is a coenzyme found in all living cells and often called an anti-aging molecule because of its many roles in supporting antiaging and overall health.
Our bodied make NAD+ itself but over time there quality and quantity of our bodies ability to do so diminishes. The biological processes that NAD+ aids in include
Repairing and protecting DNA
Gene expression
Extracting cellular energy from nutrition
Maintaining mitochondrial function
Chromosomal integrity preservation
Calcium signaling
Epigenetic and posttranslational modifications
Being of generally good health, its not something I sought out on my own but realize now that being “generally healthy” doesnt mean thriving! I decided to give it a try.
At first, I did not like the immediate size effects of the NAD+ drip. I particularly did not like the burning sensation in my throat and overall jittery feeling throughout my body. It’s like nothing I ever felt before. The nurse can curb the side effects with various things or slow the drip to make it more tolerable. The best part is having the nurse right there by your side with her full attention the entire time.
After just one session of my five pack, I noticed an immediate increase in energy and mental clarity. Prior to these treatments I was experiences so much “mom brain”, forgetting things, repeating myself, and feeling very spread thin. After one session, but even more after each subsequent session, I saw improvements in sleep, quicker recovery from workouts, improved mood, less anxiety and just an overall feeling of youthfulness.
