Happy Thanksgiving!!!
How is it already Thanksgiving?!!! I hope everyone gets to enjoy the day with the people you are most grateful for! Holidays are an adjustment after divorce. We are doing the day all together to be with the kids and I’m grateful that’s an option for us but I won’t lie, I have a lot of emotions going on. Its my first holiday since I started my 1 year without alcohol back in August and I won’t lie, I feel like I really want some wine right now. Instead I’m going to get up early, work out, cook and eat my feelings all day and then do a cold plunge in the Pacific as a new tradition! Who’s with me?!
Hopefully you were able to tune in to episode three last night! If so, you’ve probably noticed that we are still wearing those same outfits in all of our interviews haha! By the end of the many months of filming you can imagine how much I wanted to burn that purple floral dress (which by the way is linked in the outfits section below if you want to dress up as me for halloween next year).
Will your kids be a big part of the show?
Deciding to put my kids on the show was not an easy choice but I was careful about portraying them in ways that they wouldn’t later be embarrassed by. I wanted to show the most authentic version of my life but was careful to include them only minimally and make sure no storylines were revolved around them.
Did you agree with your dad that getting a divorce is the worst case scenario for the kids?
No. I think will all change comes adjustment and growing pains but ultimately what’s most important is that they are loved and in peaceful homes. My whole aim at being so open about my situation is to dismantle the shame and stigma behind divorce (esp with children) so that people feel more supported at all stages of the process, which can be long and nonlinear.
